Foodventure @ Bersian Restaurant in Puerto Princesa

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The best thing about Puerto Princesa is the many many surprises that you can find anywhere in the City. And one of the best finds that we got is a different taste that is definitely worth the try!

The catch? It’s got the best rating on our Foodventure categories:

  • delicious food that we could eat
  • best service and location
  • low prices that are definitely budget-friendly

The Bersian Restaurant is a locally-owned Mediterranean restaurant in Puerto Princesa City that offers Eastern Mediterranean foods like Greece, Turkey and more.

Food

We have this belief that every food has a story to tell, no matter where it’s from. That’s why we value every meal and see to it that it’s worth every bite.

It’s kind of scary to try new things out though. And when visiting Bersian Restaurant, we thought we would embarrass ourselves by trying to eat something we have no idea about. Luckily for us, their staff are super helpful in recommending food to order.

Menu

For Bersian Restaurant, their Mediterranean experience is superb and a must have.

What’s really great about their food is the combination of locally-sourced ingredients and authentic Mediterranean spices that brings out that amazing flavor in their dishes.

Of course, Bersian Restaurant caters to both tourists and locals. But it’s amazing how they don’t entirely disregard that Filipino palate which is really great for local customers new to these amazing cuisines. They also have vegetarian options which is great!

What We Ordered

For new restaurants, we always go for combo meals because it usually has the food we need to check out and it’s a combo of what they usually have on the menu. It’s like having an idea of what their food tastes like by trying out a little bit of everything. Though it’s not really everything…but you know what we mean.

So, we ordered the Broast Chicken, Pita and Gravy with Chicken Pesto and Mediterranean Pasta combo meals that costs around Php290 each.

We also added a plate of French Fries because why not? It costs around Php120 and is super delicious to snack on while waiting for the main to come.

So, their combo meals are super great. The flavors are really popping out with every bite and as a new thing on our blog, we decided to describe our taste experience for our dear Filipino readers.

Don’t hate us but we’re kind of skeptical about the pasta at first. We were used to the sweet creamy Filipino spaghetti that smelling the sour and salty smell of the pasta kind of surprised us. But our proud moment came and we dived in the meal. And you know what surprising but not really surprising is how amazing it was!

We were like, where was this when we need it? No kidding, it really tastes good. Plus, munching on the pita while eating the chicken with gravy? Absolute heaven!

We’re really glad we tried this dish and have a great time enjoying our first Mediterranean meal.

All in all, the order was very affordable and the taste was so good that we really enjoyed our dinner there. We’re excited to go back and try other dishes on their menu.

Location

Another great thing about Bersian Restaurant is that it’s located at the Mercado de San Miguel right in front of the airport.

It’s a perfect spot for both tourists and locals who are cruising in the City for some night-outs or some intimate meals for the day.

The restaurant will be open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM but we think it’s perfect to go there at 6PM since there’s fewer people when it’s at that time.

Services

Like we said, the top-notch customer service from their crew is a plus in making our Bersian restaurant experience a perfect one. Their servers are very accommodating and nice.

We were at dinner at that time so we kept asking when the order will come and thinking about it now, we must have annoyed the staff. But they were very nice and super great at answering our queries. We’re really glad we’re with great people who handle hungry customers well.

Couple Foodventure

In conclusion, Bersian Restaurant is a highly-recommended place.

Even though we are used to Filipino cuisine and some American dishes, we’re delighted to have tried Mediterranean cuisine for the first time. Bersian Restaurant gives you the experience of a lifetime and once tried it, you will definitely want to come back.

Anyone else tried Bersian Restaurant? What do you think of their menu?
