It’s been almost 5 months since our wedding and we finally went out to camp! Took us long enough to make this our first trip together, but surely, this experience is a treasure we will never forget. It’s the beginning of our camping life together.

We only have a few things to say in this post and it feels right that I don’t do this as a review. The trip was very spiritual and we definitely failed to take as many pictures of the place because we focused so much on what we did there instead. And I think that’s beautiful.
Camping with Nature
First, we are so grateful that we get to be invited by the young single adults in our ward to join their camp this year. We had so much fun participating in their activities and helping out when we could.

We went to Bgy. Sta. Cruz, Puerto Princesa City, where we get to camp out near the river. Spending the night there feels surreal and having our friends with us, bonding on fun stuff is a night we won’t trade for anything else.
It was the next day that we hiked to the mountains to have a swim. The memories shared by everyone in there were never-ending. I’m just glad we get to hear them and see those things in person as they shared their stories.
The Work-from-“Camp” Set Up
While I did have some time to enjoy the camp, I made a big mistake of bringing my work to this activity. I know I’m supposed to be with mother nature, but I thought it would still be okay to bring my laptop and do some work stuff in the tent.
My advice–don’t.
So when you are a work-from-home gal who plans on travelling with your work stuff in hand, you may want to try to double-check on that. Or just decide if you really want to relax or just make it sound like you do on camera.
This Chapter, and the Ones to Come
Joining this camp as a couple was definitely a refreshing experience—just being out here, figuring things out together, laughing through the little mishaps, and soaking in quiet moments around the fire has made me appreciate our connection even more. There’s something about the simplicity of camp life that brings you closer, and I’m glad we got to share it like this.
And honestly, while we were sitting under the stars last night, I couldn’t help but imagine what it would be like to come back here with a little one someday. Maybe showing them how to roast their first marshmallow, or helping them find shapes in the clouds during the day. I know we’re not there yet, but it’s a sweet thought—like planting a seed for the future. This trip isn’t just a memory for now; it feels like the start of something we’ll keep building on, one campfire at a time.
