Hello, friends!
Okay, blogging is such a fun discovery for us and we’re super excited to know we could do a post of our highlights for the month (or in this case, the first quarter) and start another wonderful series in our blog.
As a newly-married couple, there are so many highlights we are probably going to share here but don’t worry…we’ll keep them short and nice.
So here it is–

2023 1st Quarter Highlights
- New Year’s Celebration. A new life together is such an absolute blast! And with the first-ever new year celebration as Mr & Mrs, we are just ecstatic to share this with his side of the family. We had a wonderful time at Cherry’s Courtyard, B&B hotel in the City. It was great and super fun and we all definitely had a great time.
- A Visit at the Manila Philippines Temple. We were blessed to visit the Manila Temple again after a month when we joined in the youth’s temple trip. It was such a beautiful experience to come back there again and perform sacred ordinances for the dead. It was a 3-day trip and though we were a bit exhausted, it was all worth the travel.
- At-Home Valentine’s Day Romantic Dinner. We have always wanted to do this since we were dating and now we’ve finally done it! A simple set up of candlelight dinner with our wedding song playing in the background is a dream romantic date fulfilled. We are so happy and enjoyed every second of our moment together. We even played foosball right after we cleaned up. It was such a beautiful memory.
- Family Adventure @ Yvonne’s Nest. This is a family treat that we had so much fun with. It was Papa’s birthday and we did a night swim at their pool with the kids. We made a review about the place and I’m sure you guys will love it!
- SnapBox Photobooth. We are finally starting our family business! Snapbox Photobooth offers photobooth services in Puerto Princesa City and even though we are starting small, we are positive that this is going to be great. Wish us luck!
- YSA Camp. Although we’re not single adults anymore, we were given the opportunity to join in the YSA’s camp in the ward and be part of their program. It was super fun and we were able to set up camp near the river and even take a swim after a short hike in the mountains.
Board Game Review
As board game lovers, we feel that it would be great to make some reviews of our favorite games here on the blog. Here’s one you should consider:

Avalon
For our first-ever board game review, we present to you AVALON. A game of deceit, deduction and teamwork, Avalon is an absolute favorite by many of our friends and family! It can be played by 5-10 players but we usually extend to 12 in numbers (which the game can definitely accommodate). Though you need a narrator to facilitate the game. It’s super easy to play and always creates memorable moments with the players.
We’ll be posting a much-detailed review of the game so make sure to subscribe to be updated!
Kier’s Book Reads
I’m going, to be honest with you. Although I’m a bookworm, I haven’t read much in the first four months this 2023 for many reasons. This is a valid excuse so don’t bite me: I’m spending most of my time with my new husband and our new life together.
Regardless, I don’t think I should limit myself from sharing these excellent books, though few, that I have read and enjoyed in the first quarter of 2023.
Saints Vol. 2: No Unhallowed Hand
When the second book for the Saints was released, I was so excited to read everything in one go. I read the first few chapters digitally last year and finally went on to read it again this year with my own hard copy. This is perfect for learning more about the history of the church from 1846 to 1893. I definitely love the stories of the Saints especially the sisters during their time.
You can check out the free digital copy here on the church’s Gospel Library

Organize Now!: A Week-By-Week Guide to Simplify Your Space and Your Life by Jennifer Ford Berry
This book is a lifesaver, honest! Since we spent our time building our new home, a lot of organizing has to take place to make everything spic and span. And this book definitely helped me get things sorted out without so much stress. It consists of tips and ideas for easy decluttering as well as checklists (monthly, weekly & daily) that you can use for that home organizing stuff you need.

Eat Clean Love Cookbook by Chef Barni and Rachel Alejandro
As a beginner when it comes to cooking, I definitely need some help from the experts. I’ve had this book since last year but didn’t really have the time to scan it until I got married. It’s got amazing recipes that I’d really like to try and maybe you could too! Let me know when you got a recipe right since I need some cooking buddy to get me working.

A Mother’s Courage by Dilly Court
This is the only novel I have read in the past four months and I’m so glad I did. This is a story about poverty, a single mother’s challenges, and a slice of life full of lessons to learn. Dilly Court’s storytelling is superb. She wrote the characters so well that I feel that I’m with Eloise in her struggles, a strong woman with grit and a fighting spirit. Definitely a good read and highly recommended.
